This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from ferravo.shop, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We are committed to handling your data lawfully, transparently, and only for as long as we genuinely need it.

2. What personal information we collect
When you place an order:
- Name
- Billing and delivery address
- Email address
- Phone number
- Order details (products, quantities, prices)
- Payment confirmation details
We do not collect or store your full card number. Card payments are processed directly by our payment providers, who handle that data on their own systems.
When you contact us:
- Your name, email address or phone number, and the content of your message
When you sign up to our newsletter:
- Your email address, and your consent record (date and method of sign-up)
When you browse our website:
- IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent, referring website
- Cookie identifiers (see Section 7)
3. Why we use your information, and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each use of your data. Ours are:

4. Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the store, and only as far as they need it:
- Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts our store and processes orders
- Payment providers (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, or similar) — to take payment securely
- Delivery couriers (such as Royal Mail, Evri, DPD) — your name, address, and phone number, so they can deliver your order
- Email and marketing tools — to send order confirmations and, where you have consented, newsletters
- Analytics and advertising providers (such as Google, Meta) — where you have consented to those cookies
- Our accountant and HMRC — for tax and bookkeeping compliance
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a valid request from law enforcement or a court.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data, where we have no continuing legal reason to keep it
- Restrict processing — ask us to pause how we use your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Object to processing — including the right to object at any time to your data being used for direct marketing, which we will always honour
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our lawful basis

7. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our site. We use:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function, such as keeping items in your basket and keeping you logged in. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
- Marketing cookies — used to measure and personalise advertising.
Analytics and marketing cookies are only set with your consent. You can accept, reject, or change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner or the cookie settings link on our website. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
8. How long we keep your information
- Order and transaction records: 6 years after the end of the relevant tax year (required by UK tax law)
- Customer support enquiries: 2 years after your query is resolved
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal record of your unsubscribe request so we do not contact you again
- Website analytics data: up to 26 months
When we no longer need your data, we delete it securely.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across our website, access controls limiting who can see customer data, and reputable providers who maintain their own security standards. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take these obligations seriously and review them regularly.
10. Children
Our website and products are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Where changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our website.
